The World: Jakarta - Pertamina picks Optimedia for $10m account

Pertamina, the Indonesian oil giant, has picked Optimedia to handle the $10 million media business of its non-subsidised petrol station chain, Pertamina Pasti Pas!

Optimedia won the business ahead of Hotline, Mediate, Webmedia and Hakuhodo. All had been shortlisted from an original nine-strong list.

The appointment comes at a difficult time for the state-linked company, which has suffered image problems in the wake of the government's decision to raise fuel prices by 30 per cent.

The media assignment follows the award of the Pertamina creative brief to the local agency Cabe Rawit Pariwara two months ago.
