The World: Kiev - GSK appoints Starcom Group for @50m media brief

The Starcom MediaVest Group has been appointed by GlaxoSmithKline to handle its EUR50 million media planning and buying account in Central and Eastern Europe.

The agency won the business following a pitch against Universal McCann. It will now work on brands such as Aquafresh, Sensodyne, Solpadeine, Odol and Panadol.

Paul Valdez, the regional marketing director for GSK, said: "Central and Eastern Europe is a fast-growing business for GSK; we're determined to make the most of the opportunities there. Starcom MediaVest is a strong player in the region, and will be an excellent partner for us."
