The Ukrainian dairy industry has developed rapidly in recent years, with a reported increase in production of 23 per cent in the first six months of 2004. However, UHT milk accounts for just 18 per cent of the market owing to it being perceived as a luxury product for high-earning consumers.
Leo Burnett has been charged with changing existing habits of dairy consumers by encouraging those on a lower income to switch to UHT.
