The World: Kilchberg - Federer becomes global ambassador for Lindt

Lindt, the luxury chocolate brand, has named Roger Federer as its new global ambassador.

Federer, who also appears in ads for brands including Gillette and Nike, will feature in a series of print ads promoting the Lindt range, as well as in an upcoming campaign to advertise Lindt's new Les Grande chocolate.

Federer's appointment marks the first time in Lindt's 160-year history that it has used a celebrity spokesman in its marketing.

The chocolate brand, which spent about $25 million on advertising last year, is currently running a global TV ad campaign that portrays the company as "master chocolatiers".
