The World: Kuala Lumpur - Agencies to contest $60m Maxis business

Maxis, the telecom company and Malaysia's largest advertiser, has put its $60 million account up for pitch.

The company's incumbent agencies, BBDO, Ogilvy & Mather and Leo Burnett, have been invited to contest the business along with Young & Rubicam, Lowe and an undisclosed number of other shops.

At present, BBDO runs the Maxis pre-paid business, while O&M looks after the post-paid account. Burnett handles business-to-business services.

Tom Schnitker, the Maxis marketing director, said: "We are looking for long-term agency partners to help us with the next phase of the market evolution in Malaysia."
