The World: Los Angeles - Blamer's move to FCB delayed by Grey

Steve Blamer, the new worldwide chief executive of Foote Cone & Belding, has been forced to wait until his tenure at Grey Global Group ends before he can take up his new position.

Blamer, Grey's North American president and chief executive, was named to succeed the current FCB worldwide chief executive, Brendan Ryan, in December 2004. However, he will not be eligible to join FCB until 15 June, when his contract at Grey expires.

FCB previously approached Blamer in 2003. The move was foiled when Ed Meyer, Grey's chairman and chief executive, appointed Blamer, then the New York head, to run North America.
