The World: Los Angeles - GSD&M keeps its grip on $370m USAF account

Omnicom's GSD&M Idea City has successfully defended its US Air Force account - which runs for ten years and is valued at more than $370 million - after a lengthy shoot-out with DraftFCB in New York.

GSD&M, which is based in Austin, Texas, had held the contract since 2001. It partnered Omnicom's event marketing specialist, USMP, for the pitch.

Retaining the USAF is welcome news for the agency, which recently lost Wal-Mart - a major client - as well as a large portion of AT&T business.
