The World: Luxembourg - Europeans spend more time in front of the TV

Average daily television viewing time across Europe increased by three minutes last year, new figures from the RTL Television 2009 - International Key Facts report have shown.

The increase means that the average person in Europe now watches television for three hours and 47 minutes per day.

However, this figure is still well below the US average, where people watch an average of four hours and 58 minutes worth of coverage per day.

The report also found that now more than half of Europe has access to digital TV, an increase of 8 per cent on the same time last year.
