The World: Melbourne - Watchdog blasts sexist campervan slogans

Australia's advertising watchdogs have carpeted a campervan manufacturer for ads that included lines such as: "Woman are like banks - once you withdraw, you lose interest."

Another declared: "If God was a woman, sperm would taste like chocolate."

The Advertising Standards Bureau upheld a string of complaints about the ads by Wicked Campers, which appeared on the company's vehicles, and ordered it to remove them.

Alison Abernathy, the ASB chief executive, said it considered the slogans to be misogynistic and demeaning to women.

Wicked Campers agreed to remove the slogans, but claimed the artwork was not advertising or marketing material.
