The World: Milan - Group M Italy scoops Telecom Italia and Pirelli

Group M Italy has won the EUR200 million global media planning and buying accounts for Telecom Italia and its parent company, Pirelli.

The agency won the account in a three-way pitch against Aegis Media and Publicis Group Media.

The incumbent on the account, the Armando Testa-owned Media Italia, did not repitch for the business.

The Telecom Italia account includes the mobile phone network Tim, the landline company Telecom Wireline and the internet portals Alice and Virgilio.

The contract will start in early 2006 and the account will be handled by Group M's Maxus-BBS.
