World: Munich - German marketers sign 'transparency code'

A code of conduct proposed by Germany's advertiser association, the Organisation Werbungtreibende im Markenverband, has been approved by Germany's cartel body.

The code aims to increase transparency in the German media market and prevent kickbacks between media agencies and owners.

The OWM believes the German market has been distorted by such practices in recent years. Advertisers and media owners are expected to establish an agreed code following the OWM annual congress this month.
