The co-branded service, to be called CNN-IBN, will allow Indian viewers to watch local news as well as relevant global news items from the Turner-owned CNN.
Rajdeep Sardesai, the channel's editor-in-chief, said: "In a fast-globalising India, access to CNN's global news network will add immense value for our audience."
Steve Marcopoto, the Turner Broadcasting System president and managing director for Asia-Pacific, commented: "Being the world's largest democracy, India has a voracious appetite for news."
