The World: New York Circuit City awards DeutschMedia $150m brief

The US consumer electronics retailer Circuit City has awarded its $150 million media planning business to DeutschMedia.

The agency picked up the business in a three-way final shoot-out against OMD and Mediaedge:cia.

The original pitchlist also included the independent shop Horizon Media, Initiative, Vizeum and TargetCast, all in New York.

Circuit City, which continues to handle its media buying in-house, put its business up for pitch in May.

The company moved its creative in-house in March this year, moving it out of Doner in Michigan, which had held the business since June 2004.
