The World: New York - Former FCB chief Blamer takes Creston post

Steve Blamer, the former FCB global chief, has ended a ten-month exile from the industry by joining Creston, the UK-based marketing services company, as the chief executive of its US operations.

His brief will be to build the company's US presence through acquisitions.

Until now, Creston, whose stable includes Britain's Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners, has focused its attention on the UK.

Blamer, the former boss of Grey in North America, left FCB last summer, shortly after its Interpublic parent announced plans to merge it with Draft. Blamer said he hoped to make Creston's first US purchase within the next year.
