The World: New York - Interpublic attracts 'community woman' to board

Jocelyn Carter-Miller, who heads a company specialising in local community programmes, is joining the Interpublic board.

Carter-Miller, 50, is the president of TechEdventures, a management and consultancy firm that runs schools and encourages economic renewal. Michael Roth, the Interpublic chairman, said Carter-Miller's current venture "demonstrates her commitment to giving back to society, and her values make her precisely the type of person we want on our board".

Before joining TechEdventures, Carter-Miller was the chief marketing officer at Office Depot. Previously, she spent a decade at Motorola, latterly as the chief marketing officer.
