The World: New York - Kmart moves media worth $190m into MindShare

The Sears-owned convenience chain Kmart is moving its $190 million media planning and buying account out of MediaCom and into MindShare.

The agency already handles the main Sears account as well as the Sears-owned business Roebuck and Co.

A spokesman for Sears said: "This in no way reflects on the outstanding work that MediaCom has done for Kmart since 2003. It is simply part of our continued integration." MindShare now holds all of the Sears business. The consolidation follows the Kmart and Sears merger in March 2005.

In August last year, the retailer consolidated its creative duties into Young & Rubicam Chicago.
