World: New York - McCann Erickson announces new creative chief

Joyce King Thomas, the creator of the Mastercard "priceless" campaign, has been promoted from executive creative director to chief creative officer at McCann Erickson New York. Nina DiSesa, who held the posts of chairman and chief creative officer at the agency, remains as the chairman, with expanded responsibilities.

King Thomas, 48, joined McCann Erickson as its group creative director in 1995. A copywriter by trade, she began her career in the Midwest before moving to New York to take up creative posts at Wells Rich Greene and Young & Rubicam.
