The World: New York - Mcgarrybowen picks up Verizon launch brief

Verizon Wireless has appointed the Dentsu-owned agency Mcgarrybowen to handle a marketing project for its highly anticipated Verizon Android phone.

Mcgarrybowen, which is not on the Verizon roster, will be responsible for creating an intergrated campaign to help support the launch of the phone, which is expected to go on sale later this year.

Verizon, which is the second-largest ad spender in the US, uses McCann Erickson for its ad campaigns across the majority of its brands.

However, the company has worked with Mcgarrybowen before, and was the agency's founding client when it launched in 2002.
