John Wren, the chief executive of Omnicom Group, has been awarded the John A Reisenbach Distinguished Citizenship Award at a ceremony in New York.
The award is given to members of the advertising and media industry who have demonstrated a dedication to making public service an integral part of their work. John Reisenbach was an ad syndication executive who was murdered in a random street attack in 1990.
The ESPN sales and marketing president, Ed Erhardt, and the New York City film commissioner, Katherine Oliver, were also honoured at the ceremony, presented by the New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg.
