The World: New York - PHD picks up $60m HBO media brief without pitch

The cable TV network HBO has handed its $60 million media planning and buying business to PHD in New York without a formal review.

The account was managed by PHD's fellow Omnicom media agency OMD.

PHD will handle all media planning and buying for HBO, with the exception of its outdoor advertising, which remains with Omnicom's Outdoor Media Group.

HBO produces TV shows including The Sopranos (pictured) and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
