The World: New York - Sports Illustrated plans to sell in online auction

Sports Illustrated is holding online auctions to sell parts of its print, digital and event-marketing accounts.

The move is hoped to help recruit advertisers that are not already in close touch with its salesforce. The sports magazine also hopes to use the online market to help gather advertisers quickly for time-sensitive products such as commemorative issues.

The feature was first promoted through a coverwrap around certain copies of the title's 28 July issue.
