The World: New York - Tucker promoted to MediaVest chief executive role

MediaVest has promoted Bill Tucker, the former president of client services at the Publicis-owned agency, to the position of chief executive. He succeeds Laura Desmond, who left the position last year to take on the role of chief executive at the Starcom MediaVest group.

Tucker will be managing the media planning and buying for clients such as Kraft Foods, Procter & Gamble and Masterfoods.

Tucker, who has more than 22 years' industry experience, joined MediaVest in 1997 as the executive vice-president director on P&G.

In his new position, Tucker will report to Desmond, who said: "Tucker's unique ability to lead a compelling, integrated product, with equal focus on strategy, planning and investment, is equal to none."
