The World: New York - US agencies draw up plans as writers strike hits

Agencies are drawing up contingency plans ahead of a strike by the 12,000-strong Writers Guild of America.

Last-minute talks failed to resolve the dispute that could claim the chat shows hosted by David Letterman and Jay Leno as victims.

Sources say media buyers are not pulling money out, but are telling clients ad money would be returned if a strike-affected line-up failed to match ratings guarantees agreed in the summer.
