The World: New York - Visa consolidation review becomes two-way fight

Visa has narrowed its $650 million global media consolidation review to a couple of its roster agencies. Omnicom's OMD and WPP's Mediaedge:cia will go head-to-head for the business.

Visa said the review was designed to consolidate global planning and buying within a single agency or holding company. Industry sources said the outcome may be determined by the financial terms under which contenders would be willing to service the brief.

OMD handles Visa in the US, Asia-Pacific, China and India. MEC runs Visa's European media and sponsorship.
