The World: New York - XM and Sirius end feud with $13bn merger deal

America's satellite radio services, Sirius and XM, are to merge, which would end their fight for presenters and subscribers.

But this could be ruled "anti-competitive". The companies want to shake up the US radio industry with niche channels and media personalities such as Howard Stern. The $13 billion merger would need antitrust approval from the US Justice Department, and would have to be considered in the public interest by the Federal Communications Commission.
