The World: New York - Y&R picks up $40m Hilton Hotels assignment

Young & Rubicam has won the $40 million Hilton Hotels business after a four-way pitch against Foote Cone & Belding, the incumbent for the past seven years, McCann Erickson and TBWA\Chiat\Day.

OMD has been awarded media buying duties. The controversial review, which began in May 2005, drew criticism from US agencies. Hilton Hotels required pitching agencies to sign away their ideas, whether they won the account or not.
