The World: New York - Y&R severs ties with worldwide creative chief Patti

Young & Rubicam has parted company with its worldwide creative director, Michael Patti. His exit is seen as part of an effort by Hamish McLennan (pictured), Y&R's chief executive, to restore the fortunes of a network that has been bedevilled by client defections.

Despite his title, Patti, who joined Y&R from BBDO in March 2003, worked mainly on US accounts.

McLennan said he expected a number of his senior managers to be playing more influential network roles in the future, including Massimo Costa, Y&R's European chief, Mark Roalfe, the Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R chairman, and James Murphy, its chief executive.
