The World: New York - Young to take over from Drexler at Optimedia

Antony Young (pictured), the former chief executive of ZenithOptimedia in the UK, will replace Mike Drexler, Optimedia's chairman in the US, when he retires again in the summer.

The New Zealand-born Young began his career with Saatchi & Saatchi in Auckland. He moved to Hong Kong as the regional head of media for the agency. In 2001, he became the Asia chief executive for the ZenithOptimedia Group before moving to London two years later.

Drexler's career in advertising and media spans more than 40 years and he has worked at agencies including Ogilvy & Mather, DDB and FCB. He came out of retirement aged 64 in 2002 to run Optimedia.
