The World: Oslo - Bidders line up as Orkla puts media empire up for sale

The Norwegian conglomerate the Orkla Group has officially invited bidders to make offers for its media businesses.

Under the banner Orkla Media, the group owns newspapers, radio stations and electronic publishing operations across Europe, including Norway's leading newspaper, Berlingske.

Dagladet, a leading tabloid daily in Norway, has already confirmed an interest in Orkla Media.

A number of other potential bidders are also lining up, including Sweden's publisher Bonnier and an alliance of the Norwegian newspaper publishers Adresseavisen, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenbald and Faedrelandsvennen.
