The World: Paris - Bollore joins Le Monde to launch free title for Paris

Vincent Bollore (pictured), the Havas chairman, has teamed up with Le Monde to launch Matin Plus, a 350,000 circulation free daily newspaper that will be distributed in Paris.

The paper will carry mostly pictures, with four of its 28 pages written by journalists from Le Monde and Courrier International, which is also part of the Le Monde Group.

Groupe Bollore, which has a 70 per cent stake in the venture, will be in charge of ad sales.

The paper, backed by a budget of @22 million, aims to break even in six years. Matin Plus is part of Ville Plus, a network of free dailies launched by paid-for regional titles.
