The World: Paris - French titles join forces to push magazine ads' power

Eleven French TV magazines have joined forces to promote the power of magazine advertising. The move follows the French government's decision in January to lift the ban preventing retail brands advertising on TV.

The result was a 7.6 per cent fall in retail advertising in print media during the first quarter of this year.

The magazines' fightback will begin in September when food, drink, cleaning products and health and beauty advertisers will be offered packages across the titles, which will allow them to reach 17 million people for EUR300,000.

Titles involved in the initiative include those owned by Lagardere, Axel Springer and Groupe Michel Hommell.
