France Television will have a leading role in the new company formed to launch the channel and the French government has already allocated 65 million for the launch.
Nickelodeon France launches MTV is spending 3 million on an advertising campaign backing the French launch of its children's channel Nickelodeon.
The station will be broadcast on cable, satellite and the Canalplay video-on-demand channel. Its revenue will comprise 70 per cent operators' fees and 30 per cent advertising.
