The World: Paris - Newspapers join forces to offer cut-price page rates

Following the ban on primetime TV ads, 13 French daily newspapers have joined forces to offer an 80 per cent discount on ad rates in January, in a bid to attract marketers looking to redirect their budgets.

Running under the banner "puissance PQN", the publications are offering a page of advertising to run within a period of eight consecutive days in January, for just EUR200,000.

The titles, which include Le Monde, L'equipe, Le Figaro, Les Echos and International Herald Tribune, have a combined readership of 11.1 million.
