The World: Paris - Publicis Conseil fined for poaching staff

The commercial court in Paris has ordered Publicis Conseil to pay Euro 1.55 million to TBWA\France after it found the agency guilty of anti-competitive practices. The fine is to be paid immediately, regardless of Publicis Conseil's decision to appeal or not.

The settlement falls some way short of the Euro 4.75 million compensation TBWA\France was demanding after it claimed Publicis Conseil had poached staff from BDDP & Fils in a "systematic and premeditated way".

Publicis Conseil has employed 11 TBWA staff over the past two years, including its vice-president and creative director, Olivier Altmann, the ex-BDDP & Fils president (pictured).
