The World: Portland - W&K snatches $80m Old Spice brief from Saatchis

Procter & Gamble has moved the creative duties for its $80 million Old Spice account out of Saatchi & Saatchi and into Wieden & Kennedy, following a two-way pitch.

The account will be run out of the agency's Portland and Amsterdam offices.

It is the third piece of P&G business W&K has picked up since being added to the roster in 2005, when it won the global account for Eukanuba pet-food and Ivory soap in Canada.

"We're always seeking best-in-class agencies to bring expertise and creative energy to our brands," Paolo deCesare, the P&G president, global skincare, personal cleansing and deodorants, said.

W&K will also handle communications planning, including media buying, in North America. Starcom MediaVest will continue to plan and buy in all other markets.
