The World: Prague - Rival publishers plan to take Stratosfera to court

Bauer Media, Hachette Filipacchi 2000 and Ringier CZ are taking legal action against the Czech publisher Stratosfera.

The companies are accusing the publisher of falsely claiming its Spy title was the "Magazine of the Year". The celebrity title put a strapline on its cover after running its own poll. Its competitors say the "Magazine of the Year" accolade can only be used by the winner of an official competition run by the Czech Publishers' Association. Stratosfera is not a member of this organisation.

Antonin Herbeck, the editorial and managing director of Stratosfera, denied the company had broken any law.
