The World: Qingdao - Haier dumps Young & Rubicam after LG victory

Young & Rubicam has split from Haier, the Chinese white goods manufacturer, following last month's global LG win.

Haier, which hired Y&R less than six months ago, had conflict concerns. Larry Rinaldi, Haier's global chief marketing officer, said the business would be consolidated into one of its roster agencies - DraftFCB handles most of its advertising.

The move coincides with speculation Haier was unhappy with Y&R's Olympics campaign, which has yet to go on air.
