The World: Santiago - Ortega named chief executive of Publicis Chile

Publicis has appointed Marcelo Ortega as the new chief executive of its Chile operations.

Ortega joins the agency from Lowe Porta and will report directly to Alejandro Cardoso, the chief executive of Publicis Latin America.

He replaces Fernando Figueroa in the role, who has left the industry after 41 years.

Richard Pinder, the chief operating officer of Publicis Worldwide, said: "Chile is an important market for our network and I have every confidence that Marcelo and Alejandro will build a world-class agency that will deliver brand-building, contagious campaigns for our clients."
