The World: Seoul - Cheil and MindShare in squabble over Hankook brief

An inter-agency dispute threatens to overshadow the outcome of a $15 million international pitch by the Korean tyre manufacturer Hankook.

Cheil Worldwide won the account, but the Seoul-based network has denied MindShare, its pitch partner, will necessarily work on the brief.

MindShare pitched with Cheil, but is also said to have acted as the supporting media partner for Ogilvy during presentations. It is believed that a dispute over working arrangements between MindShare and Cheil has led to a stand-off.

Michael Kim, the Cheil Worldwide boss, claimed it had acted independently in the Hankook pitch.
