The World: Shanghai - Aegis acquires out-of-home network Heartland

Aegis is taking a majority stake in the Chinese outdoor media operation Heartland Media.

The company will join Aegis Media's out-of-home network Posterscope, and offers planning and buying, creative, production and implementation services. Its clients include Nokia, Coca-Cola and Hitachi.

Robert Lerwill, the Aegis chief executive, said: "Posterscope is the leader in out-of-home worldwide, and this acquisition extends that lead at exactly the right time, in the right place."

Separately, Omnicom's BBDO has extended its presence in China by taking a significant minority stake in Shunya, one of the country's leading integrated communications companies.
