The World: Shanghai - Burger King holds pitch for Chinese expansion

Burger King is understood to be in talks with two agencies about its China creative assignment ahead of ambitious expansion plans in the country.

It is thought that the world's second-largest fast-food chain will see presentations from Nitro and Young & Rubicam about its brand positioning.

At present, Burger King has just 12 shops in China, compared with KFC's 2,000 outlets and McDonald's 800 restaurants. However, the company has earmarked the country, and Asia in general, for rapid expansion over the next five years.
