The World: Shanghai - Kao leaves BBDO as Shanghai office hires creative

Tom Kao, the deputy chairman of BBDO China, is leaving the network without a job to go to. He has been at BBDO for ten years.

At the same time, BBDO Shanghai has hired Leong Wai Foong as its executive creative director.

Before joining BBDO Singapore, where he was the creative director, Foong worked for Leo Burnett and DDB.

Chris Thomas (pictured), the recently appointed chairman and chief executive of BBDO Asia, said: "Tom and I will effect a smooth transition in China and Hong Kong and I am delighted to have attracted Leong to BBDO Shanghai. He brings talent as well as an energy and a shared ambition for our business in China."
