The World: Shanghai - MindShare picks up $96m Nippon Paint business

Nippon Paint has awarded its $96 million media buying and planning business in China to MindShare following a pitch that also involved Carat.

The Aegis-owned Carat had been appointed on an interim basis last year after the business moved out of Starcom.

Meanwhile, Changan Ford is understood to be reviewing its relationship with MindShare. The business includes the joint venture's Ford and Mazda brands, which are vying for sales in China's booming car market.

Separately, OMD has won the media planning account for the InBev Chinese beer brands - Sedrin, Baisha and Jinling.
