The World: Shanghai - Suning Electronics calls three-way media pitch

Suning Electronics, the Nanjing-based superstore, has called a pitch for its media business.

The retailer has invited three agencies, Universal McCann, Zenith Media and the incumbent agency, Mindshare, to be involved in the process, with pitches to take place throughout December.

The successful agency will be briefed to help increase the retailer's market share over its rivals.

The announcement of a pitch coincides with the news that Wong Kwong-yu, the chairman of Suning's rival Gome, has been arrested for alleged share trading violations and other economic crimes.

Shares in Gome were suspended in reaction to the news.
