The World: Shanghai - TNT appoints BBH to take on China

Bartle Bogle Hegarty Asia-Pacific has been hired by TNT as the company expands its presence in mainland China. BBH saw off FCB and Lowe in a competitive pitch to become TNT China's first retained advertising agency.

BBH will review the mail logistics company's brand and new campaign work is slated to appear in 2005.

TNT's above-the-line spend has traditionally trailed that of its main rivals DHL, FedEx and UPS in Asia. TNT has indicated it will invest $240 million to support a 1,000 per cent increase in staff in China and a doubling of offices to 100 by the end of the decade.
