The World: Singapore - Agencies line up for Singapore Airlines review

Eight agencies have been shortlisted to contest the $60 million account of Singapore Airlines, which announced last month that it was reviewing out of Batey.

The agency, which has held the account for the past 34 years, will battle to retain it against Bates Asia, Publicis, TBWA, Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, DDB and Young & Rubicam.

All of the competitors have been told they have three weeks to prepare for a second-round presentation, where they will be required to present evidence that they can handle the business on a global basis.

Loss of the business could be disastrous for the WPP-owned Batey. An unsuccessful repitch could result in its merger with another group company.
