The World: Singapore - BBDO back in the frame to take $20m SingTel

SingTel, Singapore's largest advertiser, has chosen BBDO to handle its $20 million creative account. The appointment follows a final shoot-out that also involved Ogilvy & Mather and BatesAsia.

BBDO had been eliminated after an earlier round of pitching, but was invited back into the contest after Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett withdrew.

The appointment follows a four-month review process that saw Young & Rubicam, the 19-year incumbent, withdraw from contention in October.

SingTel is said to have been looking for an agency with a strong regional network as well as local strength as it bids to consolidate its market leadership over StarHub and Mobile One.
