The World: Singapore - First-ever Asian ad festival to debut next year

The International Advertising Festival, the organisers of Cannes, Dubai Lynx and Eurobest, is joining up with Haymarket Media to launch Spikes Asia, the first Asian Advertising festival.

Launching in 2009, the festival, which is expected to be held in Singapore, will celebrate the best creative work produced by Asian agencies.

Terry Savage, the chairman of Cannes Lions, said: "We are committed to bringing a great event to Asia. Haymarket has a similar vision, and we felt the power of Cannes and the power of Haymarket is a compelling combination that will be well received by the market."
