The World: Stockholm - Metro and Bonnier call time on freesheet titles

Sweden has lost two freesheets. Metro International is shutting its real estate weekly in Stockholm, while Bonnier has axed the Gothenburg edition of City.

The home-delivered Metro Bostad is being replaced with a supplement, Metro Living, in the Thursday edition of the regular Metro newspaper.

Metro Bostad was launched four years ago and quickly took a large share of Stockholm's real estate ad market from paid-for papers. Only two months ago, Metro announced plans to relaunch the paper with more editorial content.

Bonnier launched City in Stockholm in 2002 and extended it into Gothenburg and Malmo in September 2006. The title competes with Metro International's Metro and Schibsted's Punkt SE.
