The World: Stockholm - Viasat announces new entertainment channel

Viasat Broadcasting is expanding its portfolio of digital terrestrial channels by launching an entertainment channel in May.

Sitting alongside stations such as TV3, ZTV and TV8, the new channel, called TV6, will be available free of charge through Sweden's digital terrestrial network, as well as to subscribers of the company's satellite TV platform.

Hans-Holger Albrecht, the president and chief executive of its parent company, the Modern Times Group, said: "We will be looking to offer viewers a wide range of high-quality entertainment programming, and to develop rapidly the new channel's commercial viewing share. This greater choice is good news for advertisers."
